NAM/NAAM Day 10: WooWoo! NCFA Factbook 3 on the Way

Factbook 3 is a historical document that I’m betting the current NCFA would like to bury. It is a stunning record of crackpottery married to adopteephobia and adoption secrets and lies (though it does have a handful of good essays.).  It unintentionally lays out why we are still in the adoption quagmire and names name. NAM/NAAM Day 9: National Council for Adoption Gets Hammered

The National Council for Adoption is getting a hammer taken to it on Facebook….Back in that day (again!) NCFA founding president Bill Pierce called BN and our allies socialists, anarchists, and hippies in Birkenstocks He accused us of buying the M58 election in Oregon.  I’m down with all those labels and accusations, but it looks like NCFA has taken the most unPiercian strategy of remaining silent while the Proles throw cowpies in its face. That’s no fun! Continue Reading →

NAM/NAAM Day 7: Here’s an Idea for NAM/NAAM: Stop Killing Adoptees!

Nubia’s murder happened in 2011, and I think it is the worst case of not only adoptee abuse but child abuse that I’ve seen. I am not reposting Moses’ post in its entirety, but here is a preview…The abuse was reported repeatedly to Florida DCS . The department never acted on  on the complaints since according to a Miami-Dade Grand Jury Report ,it doesn’t much delve into reported abuse in foster and adoptive families. Continue Reading →

NAM/NAAM Day 6: Are Safe Haven Baby Boxes Patriotic? Another Meme

Mrs Kelsey says that one of her team came up with meme, not her. Fair enough! But I am sure that it warmed the cockles of her Benedict Bastard heart. In this era of toxic American nationalism, the meme message fits right in: Safe Haven Baby Boxes Inc–and Mrs Kelsey–are patriotic. Sticking your baby in a box-in-a-wall is patriotic. Adoption is patriotic. Continue Reading →

NAM/NAAM Day 6: Michigan Adoptee Rights Coaition Shout-out

I want to give a shout-out to the Michigan Adoptee Rights Coalition. Valarie Lemieux and her crew are doing great work up there (sorry, I don’t know any other names) The organization is out there making itself be seen, working on legislation (getting closer to victory),  tabling at community events, and overall giving Michigan adoptees a public face. NAM/NAAM Day 4: Safe Haven Baby Boxes Inc Admits It Doesn’t Know Why Their Boxes Are Used–and Don’t Care

He’s seen firsthand how overwhelming it can be for some parents — especially those facing poverty, substance use disorder or disabilities — to care for a newborn, let alone a medically fragile one. Sometimes, parents in this position leave their newborn in the hospital, he said.

Newborn discard is rooted in economic disparity, race, class, misogyny, social dysfunction, and shame. Modern decent societies attempt to address these problems. The US sweeps them into the dustbin of liberal” wokeness” and irrelevance and blames the victim. “Not our problem.” As does SHBB Inc Continue Reading →

NAM/NAAM Day 3 SHBB Inc Founder/CEO Takes a Trumpy Narcissistic Turn South

The Trumpyesque meme below was posted on SHBB social media sometime back, and illustrates perfectly bell hooks’ astute observation about the person becoming the product. That is, Mrs Kelsey makes her “baby saving” movement about herself. Look at me! Continue Reading →

NAM/NAAM Day 2: National Council for Adoption Shills for Money on Facebook; Gets Trounced

Here’s the answer: asking for money on Facebook, and perhaps other social media platforms. NCFA president Ryan Hanlon (he’s adopted,) ran this soft hit-up for $$$. He looks like he’d rather be writing some nerdy paper for an obscure professional journal than shilling…Hanlon didn’t get a great reception.  Seven out of 16 responses are vociferously negative. Day 1: Welcome to National Adoption/National Adoption Awareness Month 2025. Where the Midol?

Well, it’s that time again! National Adoption or–if you please –National Adoption Awareness Month (NAM/NAAM) when adoptees stock up on barf bags and bunker in while the multi-billion-dollar Adoption Industry and its incurious media toadies commodify us like we’re a can of tuna. Somewhere along the line, we’ll even get a NAN/NAAM Presidential Proclamation from Donald Trump written by a Heritage Foundation intern, which I’m sure we will all appreciate. I wonder how many of us are stashed away in the Great Leader’s closet? Continue Reading →
