KTVB-TV has disappeared one of the videos I embedded in the blog I’m finishing right now. While looking for it, I found this BONUS VIDEO: a February 9 interview with Charisa Coulter’s father, Mel and Eric Thompson, husband of detainee Carla Thompson. A serious luv fest for Haiti.
Thompson assures us that he loves Haiti–or rather “those people”– and prays for the government every day to do the right thing by his wife who only wanted to “help children.” Nothing about praying for the families his wife helped break up or mention of the illegal activities she engaged in to do it.
Coulter opines that it’s “unethical” to separate Silsby/Coulter from the other eight since the lawyers were hired to represent all of them. They went in “ten as one” and they need to come out as one. Gee, funny how Jim Allen claims those lawyers never represented him. And he got out “as one” while the rest of them were left to stew.
Reporter Ysabel Bilbao closed her report saying the men believe that “the country is better because of the group.”
I’ve played the tape several times and don’t hear them say that, but it sounds like something they’d say. Or maybe Bilbao was getting her own snark in. If anyone wonders how the Haiti earthquake could have been made any worse than it was, the answer isn’t far way.
Funny how the trauma of otherts is ignored but it’s all about there own woes, so Christian!
“Ten as one”. Interesting that Mr. Coulter would say that. Now there is one left. I’m just wondering who Silsby may decide to throw under the bus when she gets desperate and feels all so alone in jail. My guess is that she will pick Paul Thompson, since he is a pastor and has a large network and who better to have in jail with you, than a “man of God”? Maybe I’m wrong and she will cling to her story all the way through. How likely is that for a sociopath?
Also, I can’t understand why the other 9 didn’t realize there was a problem during that first aborted attempt. Could Haiti use that charge to build a case that they should not have been ignorant the second time?
Yes, the fact there are two proven attempts to abscond with undocumented children on buses matters. It hints at a predilection, or pattern, of obtaining Haitian children under shady circumstances and trying to leave the country with them. So do Laura Silsby’s efforts to interfere in the Kentucky couple’s adoptions.
In addition, if the other nine were present for the removal of the children on Jan. 26, they had notice that what they were doing was against the law. Yet, they participated in the same kind of attempt Jan. 29.
I still ask these pious people, “Why didn’t you do something to help these families better their lives? Why did you feel it necessary to take the children and leave the rest to suffer?” The smell of decayed and skewed morality is hitting me as I write.
I come away from the clip impressed most by their ignorance of the laws and their naivete, conditions from which their family members may have suffered as well. Were they duped by Silsby? Time will tell.
I heard somewhere that it was Carla Thompson who slipped the note to the tv producers that Laura was controlling and lying. Anything more on that story line?
I haven’t heard anything on the note other than the denials that it ever happened. Very strange indeed.
It seems like there is very little coming out of Haiti now on this. How many days has Silsby “been alone” now? About 7….hmmmm, is she getting nervous yet? How does a sociopath deal with so much time alone..with their sociopath thoughts?
I haven’t heard anything else about the note either. I hope things do stay quiet. I need to get back to my “real” work while at the same time having some extended time to do some very in depth work on Haiti. With so much coming out over the last weeks, it’s hard to keep up.
I hadn’t heard that it was Carla Thompson that slipped the note. Jim Allen says it was a fraud. Well, how can it be? I know the men and women were separated, so he’d not have any first-hand knowledge perhaps, but a fraud? I did hear that some of th enames were printed, not signed. If true, then Carla or someone took the liberty to add the men’s name. While I see them as all guilty, perhaps they know they’re dealing with a sociopath and are keeping quiet, out of fear of what she might say about them to make their situation even worse. Who knows what she might do?
They are definitely lawyered up, which they should be. Now with these other charges pending, I’m sure they’ll be doing a lot of “resting” and “spending time with their families.”
FB group prayer “Pray tonight that the officials there will simply decide the case is not worth any more of their time and allow her (Silsby) to leave.”
I can’t believe this prayer request….Let’s pray that the judge and all involved in the Haitian justice system just give up…..it’s just not worth their time…..What a totally pathetic request to make to God. Makes me sick. (AnonJ)
So they are praying that the judge will not waste any more time on a case that has caused infinite suffering on so many levels? When are they going to start praying for the kids and families they hurt? Grrr.
