The Sheraton: Bastardette Not Banned or Arrested

Long time readers will remember when They Whose Names Must Not Be Spoken, in a fit of snit, claimed that Bastard Nation and Bastaradette had been banned from the Sheraton hotel chain for life.

The current AAC conference, in fact, is at the Sheraton Grand Hotel on J Street. When I entered no sirens, whistles and beeps went off, and so far I’ve not been followed around by hotel security to monitor attitude and intent.

I’m only attending sessions that interest me, which naturally limit what I’m doing here. (I forgot my Klennix box!) I’ve spent a lot of time walking around town, so here are some pictures. Note, that I prefer things over people.

Our CalOpen get-together at PF Chang’s drew over a dozen people.

  1. Marley, you must have left your pitchfork and horns at home. Otherwise the good folk of the AAC would have given you a biblical smiting, doncha think? I love a woman with guts!

Seriously, I love the pictures. Our PF Chang’s in Orlando is one of my hubby’s former employers’ favorite meeting spots.

  2. DB, I’m finding that I prefer people in the aggregate to people as individuals as I get older. For example, despite having good health care insurance, I’m eager for reform so most Americans will have coverage. But, if I had to interact with Right Wingers who have no health insurance regularly, and listen to them deride reform, I might change my mind. The adoption industry seems similar – a noble ideal in the aggregate, but some awful individuals are involved.

  3. Excellent pics! I love weird signs. Keep having fun. I am eagerly awaiting your conference review when you get back.

  4. The aggregate IS much better. Speaking of insurance, did you see the video from my own home town (Columbus) of the local fascisti verbally attacking a man with Parkinsons as a deadbeat and throwing money at him?

Robin: Actually, I get along fine with the AAC. It was a certain baby dump power couple who claimed I was banned from the Sheraton.

  5. Morr is the shame that they couldn’t be there themselves. BTW, I’m going to steal your photos for a friend in Sacremento.
